Christmas Market

Explore The Hague this Christmas…

Feeling down this Festive Season? Why not visit The Hague and explore the Royal Christmas Fair, set acrosss the enchanting Lange Voorhout centre. As one of the most-visited Christmas markets in the Netherlands, a wonderful winter experience is guaranteed. Glistening lights and beautiful sights surround the hundreds of stalls, selling everything from mulled wine to mum’s presents.

The fair is open daily, from the 7th December right until the 23rd and runs from 12:00 to 21:00pm.

Travel

When coming from Den Haag Centraal Train Station, it is 5–10 minutes’ walk to the market. Numerous trams and buses go to and from the Lange Voorhout from Centraal Station and Station Hollands Spoor. Follow the ‘Centrum’ signs from Utrechtsebaan (A4 and A12) if you’re travelling by car. Due to scarce parking near the Lange Voorhout, it is safest to park a bit further at Interparking Museumkwartier.

Lange Voorhout

This stunning treelined walkway is well known around The Netherland’s, with it’s L-shaped layout and its many rows of Lindens. The Lange Voorhout trees were first planted in the 14th century by a former Roman Emperor, Charles V. The rich and famous flooded to this spot to flaunt on Sunday Parades as this was seen as fashionable. Today, many people visit to explore the rich history of the surrounding buildings.
