With an impressive coastline stretching over 11km , The Hague is home to some amazing beaches that offer something for everyone. Our central location means you will be no more than a 15 minute drive away from the closest beach.

Scheveningen Beach

A popular hit with visitors all year round, Scheveningen has something for everyone. An action-packed boulevard filled with beach clubs and bars, makes this is a great day out for those who love a party. Food lovers can enjoy local seafood at one of the many restaurants or grab a sweet snack from one of the stylish pavilions.

For those who prefer an active get-away, they can come and get stuck in ,with beach sports being practiced at Olympic level in the warmer months. This includes surfing, and training can be provided all year round, due to to the artificial reef ensuring the perfect waves.

Finally, visiting the pier is a must, measuring nearly 400 metres long and 45 metres high. This runs straight into the North Sea and offers amazing views of the village and the waters.

The Zuiderstrand

Just beyond the south side of the harbor, is home to one of the most stunning sights of The Hague. Known to locals as ‘the quiet beach’ ,this is a unique alternative to the 2 popular resorts on the coast. For late night walks and intimate memories, we highly recommend this spot, for a relaxing time away from the madness.

For food and refreshments, this beach still has many options such as De Kwartel. This is the oldest beach pavilion in The Hague, and houses an amazing restaurant and wine bar serving a selection of over 100 different bottles.Sand Dunes

Kijkduin Beach

Although slightly smaller than Scheveningen, this beautiful beach certainly offers an authentic experience like no-other. Visit the Deltaplein for a range of seaside shops or check out the many restaurants and cafes along the boulevard.

This area is brilliant for seeing authentic Dutch scenery. Only being a short distance from the midst of the sand dunes is ideal for an evening walk along the coast. Walk alone or bring the kids and hunt for treasure at the Beachcomber’s Shed.
